flyfest cumbria 2014

ok so a little later than anticipated but heres some pics from the new fly event in cumbria called flyfest , now i have to say the venue here is stunning , everything you could want in a venue , shops for the wives and girl friends and probably the most amazing cinema for playing films on heres some images of the 2 days

this is really a festival thats going to get really big check out 2015s event

was asked by a fellow pro team member to tie up a subbug more than happy to oblige

as always predator flies was the order of the day for me and it was interesting that most of the folks i spoke to and demonstrated to were trout guys who were very interested in what i was doing and what i found most surprising was a lot of them had no idea what these flies were used for , and when i explained pike was the target fish they again didnt realize that you could fly fish for them , now the other interesting thing was the younger guys knew what they were for and indeed some fished for them after trout season finishes interesting .......

Fly Fest is hosted at The Rheged Centre just 2 mins from the M6 west of Penrith

the venue is stunning and with all the natural light coming from the massive windows its a joy to both tie and display here the natural light does wonders to the colors of the flys really shows of gliss and glint at its finest

nothing better than the deercreek family having a curry and a laugh after the first night obviously me and the dark destroyer (conan) made the effort to get dressed up for dinner the rest of the cave dwellers didn't bother (with the exception of jen nicks wife obviously)

there is a ton of space at the center and multiple rooms on various levels , the door at the back of the room leads to the amazing cinema

just one of the great choice of films on offer i didnt watch any as to be honest i was too busy tying

Andy Saunders the legend among mud pig puddles in rare mouth closed shot

hey wanna buy a pike fly

my tying space next to foghorn leghorn fyvie  the man who never stops talking , i had a lot of interest it has to be said probably due to the colorful table

team deercreek pro staff

we rocked it and bought our usual brand of fun and frolics that people love

fun and frolicking going on

gliss and glint really rocked it

flying the flag

always good to talk to people at the fairs and a big part of what i do , people are really interested in pike fly fishing and especially those who haven't done it before and are also amazed at how light big flies are in contrast to what they look like , i can demo making a basic gliss and glint in just a few mins which is good especially if somebody is with a wife or girl friend who couldn't care less

fish love fly porn love for sale

words aint enough you now its gonna kick green ass

table of love , people really enjoyed picking flies up and actually playing with the material
